Principle of Meditation

What is Mantra?

Mantra has the meaning of invocation which means to call the Holy Spirit of the universe with your mouth and suckle the essential qi of the universe. In other words, sincerely praying to God for receiving spiritual protection and saving lives. In short, Mantra means 'the words of receiving life and the Holy Spirit from God' or 'words of earnest prayer to the Sangjenim, the Emperor of Heaven.’

The principle of water-ascending and fire-descending

As the sun and moon circulate in heaven, and water and fire interact on earth, the water qi in the kidneys and fire qi in the heart circulate in the human body.
However, water qi tends to go down and fire qi tends to go up, so this natural tendency needs to be reversed to balance water and fire (yin and yang), and that is called 'water-ascending fire-descending'.

The method of 'keeping one's head cool and feet warm' which is mentioned in the Korean medical book, Dongyuibogam, for the way of longevity without illness is achieved through the way of 'water-ascending fire-descending'. When this circulation of 'water-ascending fire-descending' goes well in the body, one can harmonize one's mind and body and regain one's vitality. And for this reason, one's anguish and paranoia will be relieved and one's spirit and qi will be refreshed.

It's Taeeulju Mantra Meditation that makes this circulation of 'water-ascending fire-descending' possible.
